Microneedling

Microneedling is a sophisticated cosmetic procedure that utilizes tiny, sterilized needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. These controlled wounds stimulate your body’s natural healing process, leading to increased production of collagen and elastin.

This treatment, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is designed to improve the appearance of your skin, making it look younger and healthier.

The number of treatments needed can vary based on the condition being addressed. For skin rejuvenation, 3-6 sessions spaced 6-8 weeks apart are typically recommended. Acne scarring often requires 4-6 treatments, also spaced 6-8 weeks apart, while stretch marks may need 4-8 treatments at the same interval. For pigmentation issues, 4-6 treatments every 2-4 weeks can be effective. Superficial treatments might be suggested at 4-week intervals.

Benefits

Microneedling offers a range of benefits, including improving acne scars, dark spots, large pores, reduced skin elasticity, scars, stretch marks, sun damage, and fine lines and wrinkles. During the procedure, a numbing cream is applied to minimize discomfort, and a pen-shaped tool with tiny needles is used to create micro-injuries in the skin. This process might cause slight bleeding as the needles stimulate the body’s healing response, promoting collagen and elastin production to smooth out wrinkles and improve skin texture. While most commonly performed on the face, microneedling can also be applied to other areas of the body, such as the stomach or thighs. Typically, 4-6 treatments are needed to see noticeable results.

After Care

After the procedure, patients should avoid certain activities and products for at least 2 days to ensure optimal results and prevent complications. These include direct ultraviolet exposure (from the sun or solariums), intensive exercise, other clinical treatments (like microdermabrasion or chemical peels), tattooing (including cosmetic tattooing), and applying high doses of active skincare ingredients (such as retinoids or alpha-hydroxy acids). Additionally, avoid excessively hot showers, baths, spas, saunas, spray or self-tanning products, and swimming in chlorinated pools or the ocean.

Microneedling is a powerful treatment for enhancing skin texture and tone, offering significant improvements with minimal downtime
