Plain Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a highly effective exfoliating treatment where a skilled aesthetician uses a surgical scalpel to gently remove dead skin cells and fine peach fuzz from the surface of your skin.

This procedure addresses the buildup of dead skin and microscopic hairs that can make your complexion appear dull, flaky, and prone to breakouts due to clogged pores and hair follicles. By sloughing off these layers, dermaplaning promotes a smooth, even glow and enhances overall skin texture.

Ideal for those with sun damage, fine lines, extremely dry skin, or dullness, dermaplaning reveals a brighter, more youthful complexion. However, it is not recommended for individuals with inflamed acne, as the use of a sharp scalpel can exacerbate the condition. It’s best to wait until acne has cleared before opting for this treatment.

Contrary to some misconceptions, dermaplaning does not cause hair to grow back thicker or darker. The hair may seem coarser as it grows back due to the blunt cut, but it retains its original thickness and color.

The procedure is minimally invasive with no significant downtime; some light redness may occur but typically resolves quickly. After dermaplaning, it is crucial to use sunscreen diligently, as your skin will be more sensitive to sun exposure. While sun protection is essential every day, it becomes even more important after exfoliation to prevent any adverse effects.

You’ll notice an immediate improvement in your skin’s texture and tone, making dermaplaning a worthwhile investment. It enhances makeup application by eliminating peach fuzz, allowing for a smoother finish, and improves the efficacy of skincare products by ensuring they penetrate more effectively.

Results from dermaplaning can last up to four weeks, as the procedure removes approximately three weeks’ worth of dead skin cells, ensuring your glow endures throughout the month. For ongoing results, scheduling a session every month is recommended.
